Sea Meet (“Sea Meet”, “we”, “us”) provides a mobile app that helps cruise passengers connect with other passengers on the same sailing. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Sea Meet is intended for adults aged 18 and over. By creating an account or using the app, you confirm that you are at least 18 and agree to this policy.
We collect only what we need to operate the app. Categories below match the App Privacy Details we declare in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
What we do NOT collect: your credit card number, bank details, contact list, location, microphone audio, health data, or contents from other apps. Apple or Google handles payment; we never see your card.
We do not use your information for advertising, do not sell your information, and do not share your information with data brokers.
The information you put on your profile (name, age, gender, photos, bio, interests, ship and sailing date) is visible to other Sea Meet users on the same cruise(s) when your profile is set to visible. Your email address, sign-in method, device identifier, and IP address are never shown to other users.
We use the following providers to run the app. They may only handle your data on our instructions and under written privacy commitments:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Hosting) | Account auth, app database, push delivery, image hosting, server logic |
| Apple — Sign in with Apple, Push Notification Service (APNs), App Store | iOS sign-in, push delivery, App Store purchases |
| Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing | Android sign-in and purchases |
| RevenueCat | Validates and tracks in-app subscription purchases |
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with a law, regulation, court order, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of users or the public.
If Sea Meet is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
The third parties listed in section 3.2 each have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data:
We keep account and profile information while your account is active. Specific retention rules:
You have the following controls inside the app:
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information.
You can delete your account at any time directly inside the app:
Once you confirm, your profile is removed from the Discover feed immediately, your photos and bio are stripped, and you are signed out. Most data is removed within 30 days. We retain a small tombstone record (your account id, deletion timestamp, and the reason you provided) to prevent abuse and to comply with legal obligations. We do not delete your underlying Firebase Authentication record so that:
If you cannot reach the in-app delete flow (for example, you lost access to the device), email us at the address below and we will honor your request manually.
We use HTTPS for all network traffic between your device and our servers. Passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication before they are stored. Access to user data inside our team is limited to people who need it to operate the app. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience a breach affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
Sea Meet is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account.
Sea Meet is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the app, you consent to that transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Sea Meet after the change becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
